I came home for the weekend. I got in after 8 with my dad. Ate some amazing fried chicken livers, scalloped potatoes, and coleslaw. Went to bed.
Set my alarm like I was going to wake up super early and go shoot video.
Ha.
I was planning on going to Waffle House after shooting video.
So picture it: Table for 2, room for 1.
And while I'm sure the staff didn't think of it this way, everything was… Peaceful? Tranquil?
A gentleman dropped his cane. A younger guy picked it up and handed it to him.
Families were sitting around, waiting on their food. Happy.
I got a work call and my server was patient and kept checking on me regularly.
It was so nice.
I'm by no means advocating for what's been happening in this country for the last 7 years but it's really easy to forget that we are able to treat each other nicely.
Fast forward to Wendy's back in Morgantown on Sunday. Same thing. The cashier was talking her shit. No if ands. But she was just being herself. She wasn't being rude. Just cursing a little bit.
Wendy's corporate wouldn't have liked that. But myself and the other customers were eating it up.
And she was so daggone nice too.
“Just because I'm having a bad day doesn't mean they have to know that.”
Still real talk.
The video for Hoodie has arrived (I shot 2; other one drops Monday 6/16). I filmed this at one of my favorite spots around our house, where I used to walk around and rap to myself and sing to myself and where I could be unbothered. I appreciate it if you could check it out.
For the concerned, I'm coming out of my Minecraft era. A little bit. I still have a ton of video to edit and release though.
It's been a minute since the last newsletter so I have a few Spotify playlists for you. June is in progress of course.
Here are (almost all) the latest releases from Hyphen Podcast Group:
We Should Do This Again Sometime
I don't really have a Song Of The Moment but here's Glenn Lewis covering Usher's Superstar that I saved months ago.
If you made it this far, I appreciate each and everyone one of you who’ve read this newsletter and support me in ALL of my creative endeavors. It truly warms my heart. Please tell a friend to tell a friend that it’s him again. Until next time…
