When I restarted the newsletter Monday, the Kendrick essay took on a life of its own. I appreciate all the positive feedback I got on it! It was inspired by some close friends and I should have definitely not been as curt and angry. But I feel like curt and angry is the default setting I have to use lately. But I digress!
There were a few other things I wanted to share that I had been saving for the newsletter, so this is me circling back to make sure I got everything.
Item! First and foremost, my album HYPHEN, is still available! It's also on streaming but I'll say this now, other than the clean version of the “What It Look Like (Remix)”, any new solo material from me is going on my Bandcamp, direct to consumer.
That doesn't mean I'm not still dropping this content related to the album though! I dropped the third verse of “Hoodie” recently on my channel.
Also:
This is dope too!
Item! Today's Minecraft Wednesday video is out.
Item! I started making playlists for what I've listened to and enjoyed for January and February on Spotify. There's no rhyme or reason, just what I was feeling at the time.
Item! I added a single I did with E, Big Chief, and Thack in 2013 called “Vanessa Del Rio”. I've always loved it.
Item! A recent episode of We Should Do This Again Sometime with Kat & Marc discusses Hollywood Shuffle and School Daze. I love these people, so should you!
Item! I have some new merch ideas but there's still some cool stuff on sale right now through TeePublic!
Dope! David Dennis Jr. on Kendrick's performance.
Dope! I've been following Peter McKinnon since the pandemic. Here's one of his latest videos.
Dope! I don't use Threads anymore but this video of a mom appreciating Kendrick warmed my heart today.
Dope! Dinosaur Burps have dropped a couple of new projects recently.
Dope! E has been dropping all kinds of new material on his channel.
If you’re local, I'll be here on February 20th!
Thanks y'all.
