I'm thinking about stopping one of the many things I do on a weekly basis. One thing I'm definitely stopping but more on that when the time comes.
I've been doing my Dope! TikToks/Reels/Shorts for almost a year. I was able to do them weekly at first but as I wanted better quality, I got the whole process down to a smooth 20 minutes. That includes filming, editing, rendering, and posting.
After the New Year, it eventually became a bi-weekly series as my #dailyhy uploads came to the forefront. But due to lack of interest, I stopped doing that series a few months ago.
And now I'm thinking I want to stop doing the Dope! series for the same reasons.
I make content because I enjoy making it. I came to terms with the fact that the majority of my content won't be seen or heard by most people. And yet I still have a passion for it.
But when I post a 15 second throwaway video and it gets 2000 views, I have no idea what made it get 2000 views. But when I post an episode of Dope!, I'm lucky if it gets 100 views.
Why is the quality content getting overlooked for the silly stuff I post at times? It's frustrating. I feel like if I posted silly stuff every day, it would eventually stop getting views as well.
I like making the Dope! videos and I've even considered making the content simpler with no edits and just some text from my phone that shows the logo. All in the hopes of continuing the series.
But would I only be delaying the inevitable of stopping the series later?
I'm going to think on it more but I'm pretty sure Dope! is done on Friday.
But I'm not done!
